Thesis internship World Port Days Rotterdam

The World Port Days in Rotterdam is one of the world’s largest maritime community engagement events. During this annual event of three days, various companies who are active in the port demonstrate their activities, either on the water, on the quay side as well as on site. In recent years, the World Port Days attract over 300,000 people to Rotterdam. However, due to the pandemic in 2020, the organization was forced to present an alternative online programme. For 2021 the organisation is working out two scenarios: a live outdoors event or an online event.

The research project is to assess the online programme offerings which have been offered by other event organisations in the Netherlands and abroad.  What are the trends and developments? What strategic choices have to be made to allow merging the online edition with an outdoors edition, conditionally that a large scale public event is permitted again. The aim of the internship project is an advice for the World Port Days programme.
