Traditionally generators of negative externalities, first and foremost of which were diseases, ports are occupying a new place in the world’s urban, logistical and sanitary architecture. By becoming spaces of knowledge, expertise and innovation, they are now providers of positive externalities that contribute to improving the resilience of the cities in which they are located.
